Bird Watching

The little things we overlook everyday. The small things that bring joy to your life.

Who says Common Sparrows have migrated from Delhi?

The Park outside my home nests hundreds of them and there are many to come.

The morning Bird Feed at my front gate:

Pigeons, Doves, Magpies and the smaller birds (Bulbuls etc) is the pecking order.

The Crows bully their way in anytime.

In the afternoon when I sit out reading a book in my verandah, when rains have just stopped,

I meet the Sparrows.

The smaller Bird seeds are by then available for feed.

They flock in take a few pecks and fly off to the trees.

Others wait on the electric wires to dive in.

Many dunk in and out of the water bath, it's a pleasure to be with these harmless friends.

A passing car flies them off to return again.

Nature has its own ways of teaching you.

I urge all to put some seeds and water in your balconies to make new friends.

You can say the old man enjoys 'Bird Watching' now a days.
